Aubrey Heads to Broadway
People Magazine, among others, is reporting that Aubrey has signed on to star in the Broadway adaption of Hairspray. Here’s a little more info:
O’Day will take on the role of Amber Von Tussle, the stuck-up arch-nemesis of Tracy Turnblad, in Hairspray starting July 18 at N.Y.C.’s Neil Simon Theatre. She also joins former boybander, O-Town’s Ashley Parker Angel, who is already performing in the play.

So, looks like there’ll be a little summer break for Danity Kane. Broadway runs are very time-consuming and there isn’t enough time off for her to do both gigs. The Hairspray cast do 6 shows per week! It looks like her run will be from July 18th until August 31st, so that is just a little over a month.
Just saw a post on SOHH about DK’s upcoming Six Flags tour with opener Prima J. A couple of the dates fall during Aub’s Hairspray run, so I’m not sure what’s going to happen there. It could be that she could do both! I hope she is still able to get away occasionally because DK is going to need to promote “Bad Girl” in the coming weeks/month!
I wish for Aubrey lots of energy (and fun) because she’s going to need it!
